Guru Purnima is a day for honoring and showing respect to Gurus. As per the Vedas, Gurus have a higher stature than even God in one's life.

It is celebrated on the Purnima Tithi during the Sukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Ashadha and is known as Guru Purnima or Vyas Purnima. This year it is on 13th July 2022.
The tithi starts on 13th July, 4:00 AM and ends on 14th July 12:08 AM.
Guru Purnima is also called Vyas Purnima because as per Hindu tradition, this day is also celebrated as the birthday of Krishna Dwaipayana Ved Vyas - author of Mahabharata and one of the greatest Rishi history has seen.
One must take time to thank their Gurus- in Academics, life, profession, hobbies and spirituality. One must pray to all their gurus and gods for lifelong wisdom and prosperity, for its said in our scriptures the biggest wealth is wisdom.
There are many ways to celebrate Guru Purnima: 1. Puja of your Gurus & Gods

2. People fast during the day, refraining to eat salt, rice, heavy foods such as non-vegetarian dishes. Only eating yoghurt or fruits or Satvic food is allowed. They break their fast after performing puja in the evening to their gurus.
3. Chanting "Guru Brahma Mantra" 31 times in the day
"Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara; Guru Sakshat Param Brahma, Tasmai Shri Guravay Namah"
4. Guru Beej Mantra jaap- "Om Graam Greem Graum Sah: Gurve Namah:" 108 times in the day to strengthen the planet Jupiter for good results in marriage, wisdom, exams, education and peace.

Using a Rudraksha mala for the chanting will give amplified effects due to its high frequency. Overall, all these methods not just increase wisdom, but also bless one with success in career, education, prosperity, children and marriage.
